I’ve never bought new tires before. Every car I’ve had has either had decent tires, or I’ve bought wheels with decent tires already on them. But these are just wonderful. I thought the old tires the Subaru came on were decent, and I thought my used Michelin X-Ices were actually quite good. Which, as a winter tire, I think they are. But these new ones are great. I actually have steering feel now, they’re much more comfortable than the ones before, and there’s less road noise. Oh yeah they’re Cooper Zeon RS3-G1s. Once I’ve had them more than a few days, maybe I’ll write more thoughts about them. All I’ve got so far is more than good enough dry and wet traction, good steering feel, and low road noise.

My w123 Merc was transformed by some Michelin Xs and new shocks. Wow it was great after that. Also my Z from a stock kind of setup ala 1971 VS the new tires are just a huge difference, but they are lower profile on a larger rim and an inch wider so that helps.

Good tires are the best ‘upgrade’ you can spend money on IMHO. Better handling, traction, braking, NVH, comfort, all from one part!
